DENTON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team continued the Denton Volleyfest with a four-set victory over Southern Arkansas at Kitty Magee Arena, Friday morning. The Comets (3-2) defeated the Muleriders (1-4) 22-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-22.
UTD led 20-19 towards the end of the first set, but SAU ended the frame on a 6-2 run to take the opener. The Comets dominated the second set by hitting .471 on 19 kills, never trailing in the 25-18 win.
After leading 13-12 in the third, the Comets outscored the Muleriders 12-5 the rest of the set. Tied at 19-19 in the fourth, UTD finished off the match on a 6-3 rally, which included three kills from
Jane Burkhardt.
The Comets hit a season-best .227 with another season-high of 11 blocks. They also recorded 46 assists, seven aces and 62 digs. The Muleriders hit .148 with 46 kills, four aces, 12 blocks and 56 digs.
UT Dallas Notes
- Burkhardt recorded her second double-double of the season with 15 kills and 12 digs. She also had five blocks.
- Middle blocker
Laura See hit .526 with 11 kills and four blocks. She entered the UTD career top 10 in total blocks with 201.
- Outside hitter
Addison Schnautz added 10 kills.

Savannah Welch led the Comets with six total blocks and hit .419 on nine kills.

Scarlette Young added nine kills, 29 assists and eight digs.

Lashae Goffney had five kills and four blocks.

Lola Fisher served up three aces.
- Libero
Avery Gray recorded a season-best 28 digs.

Sydney Sabin recorded one assist and five digs. She moved into eighth place on the UTD career aces list with 108.

- Peighton Killeen had 11 kills and four blocks.
- Brinklee Dauenhauer recorded 11 kills, two aces and nine digs.
- Allie Cooper hit .533 on nine kills with four blocks.
- Courtnee Morgan posted six blocks.
- Kate Schofield led SAU with 18 assists.
- Kendall Tolliver had 19 digs.
