The centerpiece of the Comets’ perennial strength, Irish departs the UT Dallas volleyball program as perhaps the most instrumental athlete in team history. An outside hitter with deceptive power, she currently owns seven UTD records, including:

A former All-American, Irish has been named to the ASC East Division First Team all four years of her sterling career. She is the only Comet to accumulate over 1,000 kills, 1,000 digs and 150 service aces.

2009: Posted 245 kills, averaging 2.92 per set…finished second on the team with 273 digs…named to the ASC All-Conference Team for the second straight season…also named to the ASC East Division First Team for the fourth time.

2008: Voted First Team All-South Region and honorable mention All-American by the AVCA…second on UTD in both kills and digs, compiling 333 and 334, respectively…added 39 aces…was named to the ASC All-Conference Team and the ASC East Division First Team…once won ASC East Offensive Player of the Week.

2007: Was named ASC East Division Preseason Player of the Year, but dipped statistically after UTD imported a variety of offensive weapons…still won ASC East Division First Team honors for the second straight year, recording 243 kills and 53 aces…averaged 2.57 digs and had 37 blocks.

2006: Elected as a member of the prestigious ASC All-Conference Team after her freshman season, where she was the Comets’ leader in both kills (334) and aces (61)…also named the ASC East Division’s Newcomer of the Year.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at a high level for O’Connor HS (San Antonio, TX), where she also played basketball.
