Lauren Fulenwider joined the UT Dallas women's basketball staff as a volunteer assistant in fall of 2023.
The Comets went 20-6 overall and 12-4 in American Southwest Conference play, tying for second place in Fulenwider's first year on staff. She coached five All-Conference selections in 2023-24.
In her one season as a player for the Comets, Fulenwider was the ASC Newcomer of the Year and an All-ASC Honorable Mention helping UTD to conference championship. She played in 27 games, averaging 6.1 points per game with 36 rebounds, 34 assists, one block and 11 steals. She also made 49 three-pointers, leading the team. Fulenwider also earned Academic All-ASC honors.
Fulenwider played for three seasons at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, averaging 10.8 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in 60 contests. She also made 178 three-pointers in her career and was a two-time All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference selection. Fulenwider broke the SU school record with 85 three-pointers in 2021-222 and broke the SCAC game record with 10 three-pointers made on January 12, 2022 against Centenary (La.). She also spent a year at Texas State University in San Marcos.
She has spent time as the PJ. Boatwright Intern for the Texas Golf Association and worked for Austin FC.
Fulenwider was an All-State and 4A District MVP for Wylie High School in Abilene, Texas. She was a member of the National Honor Society and played volleyball.
She graduated from Southwestern in 2022 with a BA in Psychology and is set earn her MBA from UTD in 2024.
