Halee Brewer

Halee Brewer was named the assistant coach of the UT Dallas volleyball team in February 2024.

In her first season, the Comets went 9-9 while transitioning to NCAA Division II.

Brewer comes to Richardson after spending the last two seasons at the Director of Operations/Program Coordinator for Tulane University in New Orleans. She also served as an assistant at Tyler Junior College from December 2020-April 2022 and as a graduate assistant at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, La.

She has assisted with recruiting top student-athletes, helped develop and distribute content to promote all camps and volleyball related activities, documented and distributed of all equipment, assisted student-athletes with their academic organization and study hall schedules, prepared all necessary equipment for games and assisted in off-season and in season execution of practice plans.

A native of Longview, Texas, Brewer served as a two-year linchpin on the Texas State University frontline in San Marcos, compiling 57 sets across 31 matches as one of the squad's primary middle blockers. During her stint with the Bobcats, Texas State posted back-to-back strong seasons on the hardwood, securing consecutive regular season Sun Belt titles, the 2018 Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship and a spot in the 2018 NCAA Tournament, advancing to the second round for the first time in program history. Brewer also played two seasons for Tyler Junior College.

Brewer managed to capture an individual accolade as well during her senior campaign, earning recognition in Volleyball Magazine as the 2018 Unsung Hero, a first for program. Statistically, the middle blocker tallied a strong overall presence, notching 66 kills with 44 blocks for her DI career.

"We are excited to have Halee join the staff and be a part of the Comet family," said head coach Zach Villarreal. "She comes highly recommended from many colleagues. We are looking forward to the energy Halee will bring along with her attention to detail. Halee stood out through the hiring process and our conversations flowed naturally. We have many of the same values and I'm looking forward to her impact with our program. Her experiences gained through her time at Nicholls, Tyler Junior College, and Tulane will help immensely on and off the court. The team really connected with her during the interview process and they are as eager for her to be here as I am."

Brewer graduated from Texas State in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Media & Mass Communication and with a Master's in Higher Education from Nicholls in 2021.
