SAN ANTONIO, TX (10.03.11) -  The UT Dallas men's tennis team returned to action over the weekend for the 2011 USTA/ITA Regional Championships, hosted by Trinity.

Bryan Leib was the only UTD player to advance to the second round in the singles bracket as he downed Hendrix' Ben Thomas, 6-3, 6-2, before falling to Trinity's Erick DelaFuente in the second round.  In the consolation bracket, however, four different Comets picked up wins with Guil Portela, Ian Lucio, Ashish Kulkarni and Eric Matthewson all advancing to the round of 16 before elimination.

On the doubles side, the Comets were unable to pick a victory and advance any of their three teams to the second round.

The Comets wrap up the fall portion of their schedule Oct. 7-8 at the Collin College Open in Plano.
