CLINTON, MS (02.25.12) - The UT Dallas men's tennis team opened the 2012 spring season with a 5-4 road loss at Mississippi College in American Southwest Conference East Division play.

Junior transfer Matthew Davis picked up a key single win at No. 1, downing MC's Christian Branning, 6-2, 6-2, and Bryan Leib added a win at  No. 3 singles over Jacob Womack, 7-6 (2), 6-3, but the Comets could not manage another singles win. Davis and Leib also earned a doubles win at No.1 while Amish Menon and Ian Lucio teamed up for a No. 3 doubles win.

The Comets (now 0-2, 0-1 ASC East) return to action Saturday with a pair of home matches. UTD hosts Schreiner at 10 a.m. and t hen Howard Payne at 3 p.m.
