RICHARDSON, TX (02.12.21) - UT Dallas senior guard
Kelley Skinner became the program's all-time leading rebounding Friday afternoon as the No. 10-ranked Comets pulled away late for a 74-54 home win over Belhaven in American Southwest Conference East Division play.
Skinner, a four-year starter for the Comets out of Katy, pulled down 14 boards Friday to give her 615 rebounds in her standout career with the squad. The previous record last less than a year as Skinner broke the mark set by former teammate

The Comets (now 9-3, 5-2 ASC) used a 24-point third quarter to open the game for good en route to their third 20-point victory of the season. UTD then clamped down defensively in the final period, outscoring the Blazers, 12-9, over the final 10 minutes. The Comets led by as many as 10 points, 19-9, in the opening stanza before Belhaven clawed back to make it a one-point game, 22-21, with 6:49 left in the first half.
UTD would answer with an 11-0 run oer the next two minutes to regain a double-digit cushion and would lead the Blazers, 38-30, at the break. Belhaven would make it a one possession game early in the third, cutting the deficit back to three points twice before the Comets used another big run, this time 9-0, to take control of the contest. Leading 62-45 heading into the fourth, UTD led by as many as 22 points in the final frame.
Kaitlyn Judge led the Comets with 15 points while
Raenett Hughes and
Paris Brinkley each finished with 12 points. UTD shot just 31.2 percent from the field for the contest, hitting 6-of-27 three-pointers, but dominated the boards, 63-41, and forced 21 Blazer turnovers.
