Still in search of their first win of the season, the Comets (0-5) will return to the field this weekend for three games at Wichita Falls in the Midwestern State Invitational, weather permitting.

The host Cru (now 2-1) plated three runs in the bottom of the 1st and never let up as the upended UTD in five innings. The Comets scored two runs in the 3rd thanks to a Mikayla Kanetzy single followed by a
Charlie Burns sacrifice but to cut the deficit to a single run, 3-2. However, the Cru added another run in the bottom of the 3rd and four in the 4
th, three off a home run by Izzy Gutierrez to extend their lead to 8-2.

Sarah Lewis launched the Comets' first long ball of the season in the top of the 5th a two-run shot off the scoreboard scoring
Ashley Ambrosy before UMHB would end the game with four runs in the bottom of the 5th.

Ambrosy was 3-for-3 from the lead-off spot for the Comets while Lewis was 1-for-1 with two RBI, entering the game in the bottom of the 4th.
