RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas men's basketball team remained on top of the American Southwest Conference standings at 4-0 by defeating Ozarks 79-69.
The visiting Eagles (7-2, 2-1 ASC) led 23-16 at the 6:38 mark in the first half, but the Comets (7-2, 4-0 ASC) ended the period on a 21-5 run to take a 37-28 advantage into the break.
Ozarks battled back to take a 57-56 lead with just under 10 minutes remaining, but UTD answered with 15-3 rally - capped by an alley-oop dunk from
Hunter Stevens to
Kyle Poerschke - over the next five minutes to take control of the game.
The Comets shot 44.6 percent (29-for-65) from the floor, 6-for-25 from three-point range and 15-for-19 at the line. They also had 36 rebounds, 22 assists, one block, 10 steals and 12 turnovers.
The Eagles shot 46.3 percent (25-for-54) overall, 8-for-29 from outside and 11-for-15 at the free throw line with 30 rebounds, 14 assists, six blocks, eight steals and 19 turnovers.
UT Dallas Notes
- Poerschke paced the Comets with 23 points, two off his season-best to go with five rebounds and three steals. Poerschke has scored in double-digits in all nine games.
- Sophomore guard
Luke Kiser posted his first career double-double, finishing with 10 points, a career-high 10 rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Caden McKenzie had nine points off the bench in 13 minutes.
- Senior center
Will Isaac recorded eight points, seven boards and three assists.
- Stevens finished with eight points and three assists.
- Senior forward
James Curtis had five points, five rebounds and five assists.

Nick Donnelly each recorded five points with Tagnon adding four assists.
Ozarks Notes
- Tylan Jackson led all players with 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
- Tim Eldridge had 13 points off the bench.
- Grayson Nix scored 10 points and Josh Ukpe had nine points, six boards and three assists.
- Kamren Roelke finished with eight points and seven boards.
