RICHARDSON, TX (02.07.22) - The UT Dallas men's basketball team ended its two-game slide Monday night with an 84-70 comeback home win over Concordia Texas in ASC play.

Luke Kiser flirted with just the seventh 'triple-double' in program history as he poured in 17 points while adding eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals, all career highs, as the Comets (13-6, 9-5 ASC) erased a four-point second half deficit against the visiting Tornados. UTD, currently sitting fourth in the ASC standings with four games left in the regular season, have a pivotal league game Thursday night when the Comets host third-place Hardin-Simmons. Tip-off is 7:30 p.m. at the UTD Activity Center.
Kiser did not miss a shot from the field in the victory, going 6-for-6 from the floor overall and 3-for-3 from three-point range. Teammate
Kameron Pruitt finished with a game-high 18 points to spark five Comets in double figures Thursday night.
James Curtis and
Caden McKenzie each added 15 points while
Kolton Pruitt scored 11 points. Kiser led the squad in rebounds, assists and steals.
After the two teams traded leads in the opening half, the Comets would open up a nine-point lead, 21-22, after a Kiser three-pointer at the 11:43 mark of the first period. The Tornados trimmed the lead back to a single point twice late in the half before UTD took a 37-33 cushion into the intermission. CTX opened the second half strong, securing its largest lead of the night with 17:03 left to play. The Comets answered with a 7-2 run over the next three minutes to regain the lead and never looked back. UTD snagged its first double-digit lead of the night, 67-57, with 5:13 remaining on a
Kolton Pruitt lay up and led by as many as 19 points late.
The Comets shots nearly 61 percent as a team in the opening half and finished the win shooting 56.9 percent (29-of-51), their third-highest percentage of the season. UTD was 8-for-18 from three-point range and scored 24 points off of 19 Tornado turnovers.
