RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team tied the program record for points allowed in a game, defeating Concordia Texas 51-24 in American Southwest Conference action at home Thursday night.
The Comets (8-5, 4-2 ASC) limited the Tornados (6-6, 3-3) to just 17.5 percent shooting (10-for-57) overall and 1-for-21 from three-point range.Â
The performance ties the record for points allowed when the Comets defeated Texas Wesleyan 103-24 on January 8, 2002.
UTD led 24-13 at half then outscored Concordia 14-3 in the third quarter, with all of the visitor's points coming at the free throw line (3-for-8). The Comets continued to pull away from the Tornados in the final period, winning by 27.
UT Dallas shot 31.7 percent (19-for-60) from the field, 2-for-13 from outside and 11-for-13 at the line. They also had a season-best 56 rebounds, 12 assists, two blocks, eight steals and 18 turnovers.
Concordia finished with 35 boards, five assists, four blocks, 11 steals and 16 turnovers.
UT Dallas Notes
- Senior forward
Diane Hurst led the Comets with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting. She also recorded six rebounds, two steals and a blocked shot.
- Guard
Blythe Williams had six points and a game-high eight rebounds.

Kaylee Boykin had six points and six boards.

Trystan Clark also scored six points. with three rebounds.
- Freshmen
Raylee Cave and
Kyra Samuels each pulled down a season-best six rebounds.

- Havyn Perez led the Tornados with 10 points, six rebounds and four steals.
- Chelsea Cogborn had four points, three rebounds and three steals.
- Zakari Perry added four points and three rebounds off the bench.
