RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team made senior day successful, defeating Sul Ross State 25-23, 25-18, 20-25, 25-20 at the UTD Activity Center Saturday afternoon.

The Comets (8-11) won in front of a crowd of 606 fans, the seventh-largest at home in program history. Before the match six seniors were honored - Izzy Sundquist, Hannah Paine, Emma Sevening, Rachel Baxter, Lydia Knollmeyer and Erin Rogers.

After holding off the Lobos (7-13) in the first set, the Comets ended the second on a 6-0 run to go up 2-0 in frames. Sul Ross pulled away late in the third game to force a fourth set. After nine ties and three lead changes, UTD ended the match with a 5-1 rally. 

UTD hit .191 with 49 kills, seven aces, 63 digs and 14.5 blocks. SRSU hit .148 with 50 kills, seven aces, two blocks and 73 digs.

UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets improved to 24-1 all-time against the Lobos with 23 consecutive wins.
- The 14.5 blocks was a season-best for UTD and the sixth most in a four-set match in school history.
- Sophomore Lauren Johnson hit .440 with 14 kills and five blocks.
- Rogers had 11 kills and three blocks.
- Knollmeyer recorded career-highs with a .438 hitting percentage, eight kills, four digs and six blocks.
- Baxter came up with a season-best 25 digs and four aces. She became the ninth Comet all-time to to pass the 1,200-dig mark.
- Sophomore Rockie Collier had four kills and a season-high five blocks.
- Sevening was one off her season best with 26 assists.
- Sundquist added 19 assists.
- Freshman Bailey Schievelbein came up with 12 digs.

Sul Ross State Notes
- Cassandra Espinoza posted 15 kills and 11 digs.
- Danielle Garcia had 13 kills.
- Setters Elana Marta came up with 21 assists and 10 digs. while Brylee Sweeten recorded 18 assists and 13 digs.
- Tatyana Colin led the Lobos with 23 digs.
