BELTON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team lost to Mary Hardin-Baylor 25-22, 25-21, 20-25, 25-12 at the Mayborn Campus Center Friday night.
The win for the host Cru (25-1, 13-1 ASC) secures a least a share of the American Southwest Conference regular season title. They will also host the ASC Championship Tournament beginning November 9.
With four matches remaining, the Comets (8-12, 6-4 ASC) sit in third place. They can finish anywhere between second and sixth place, having already secured a spot in the tournament.
After UMHB took the first two sets, UTD hit .393 with 16 kills to win the third and stay alive. The Cru answered with a fourth set victory.
Overall, UTD hit .122 with 49 kills, five aces, two blocks and 68 digs. UMHB hit .248 with 45 kills, six aces, 14 blocks and 59 digs.
UT Dallas Notes
- Senior outside hitter
Erin Rogers led the Comets with 15 kills.
- Sophomore right side
Gabi Engels tied her career-high with 13 kills.
- Freshman right side
Stella Ballew recorded a season-best .615 hitting percentage with eight kills and no errors.

Rachel Baxter came up with 23 digs and moved up two spots into seventh on the UTD career list with 1,224.

Emma Sevening (24 assists, 10 digs) and
Sydney Sabin (20 assists, 10 digs) each had a double-double.
Mary Hardin-Baylor Notes
- Kendall Harrington hit .375 with 11 kills, 20 assists and 11 digs for a triple-double performance.
- Hannah Frasca also had 11 kills to go with 12 digs.
- Katie Warden posted 10 kills and three blocks.
- Natalie Hughes led all players with 11 total blocks.
- Ella Brunson had 20 assists and 12 digs.
