RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team picked up a three-set American Southwest Conference sweep over LeTourneau at the UTD Activity Center Tuesday night. The Comets (4-9, 3-2 ASC) defeated the YellowJackets (4-9, 4-3 ASC) 25-17, 25-14, 25-21.
UTD ran away with the first two sets, connecting on 15 kills in each frame. They also hit a blistering .378 in the opener, committing just one error. The final set featured 11 ties and six lead changes. Knotted up at 21 each, the Comets took the match with the final four points, including a
Laura See ace and back-to-back kills from
Bailey Schievelbein and
Lauren Johnson.
For the match, UTD hit .192 with 44 kills, eight aces, three blocks and 66 digs. LeTourneau hit .058 on 25 kills, three aces, three blocks and 75 digs.
UT Dallas Notes
- Tuesday's match was the 200th for UTD inside the Activity Center since the inaugural season of 2004. The Comets are 167-33 on their home floor.
- The Comets improve to 43-0 all-time against the YellowJackets.
- Schievelbein posted her sixth double-double of the season and fourth straight with 10 kills and 14 digs. She also served three aces for the third consecutive contest.
- Senior outside hitter
Erin Rogers posted 10 kills for her fifth double-digit performance of the year.
- Johnson hit .350 with nine kills.
- See finished with seven kills, two aces and three blocks, including one solo.
- Senior defensive specialist
Rachel Baxter came up with 14 digs, marking the sixth double-digit output of the season.
- Freshman libero Mari Hernadez had her ninth double-digit dig performance of the season and seventh in a row with 11 on the night.

Izzy Sundquist added 17 assists and five digs.

- Libero Morgan Nix led all players with 30 digs, a new three-set match record for a Comet opponent.
