UTD Volleyball Sweeps McMurry

ABILENE, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team picked up its third American Southwest Conference sweep of the week, defeating McMurry 25-11, 25-21, 25-8 at Kimbrell Arena Saturday afternoon.

The Comets (6-9, 5-2 ASC) rolled to an easy first set win, hitting .371 on 16 kills and only three attack errors. Tied at 17-17 in the second, the road team outscored the War Hawks (1-17, 0-6 ASC) 8-4 down the stretch to go up two sets to none. UTD overpowered McMurry in the third, hitting .478, compared to -.061 for the host.

For the match, the Comets hit a season-best .340 on 40 kills, nine aces, seven blocks and 61 digs. The War Hawks hit .080 with 26 kills, three aces, two blocks and 47 digs.

UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets have won six of the last seven matches, all in ASC play.
- UTD improves to 15-3 all-time against McMurry.
- Sophomore Lauren Johnson led UTD with 10 kills, hitting .474. She also had two blocks.
- Freshman middle blocker Laura See hit .500 with eight kills, two aces and four blocks.
- Bailey Schievelbein posted eight kills, two aces and 16 digs.
- Emma Sevening had 18 assists, an ace and seven digs, while Izzy Sundquist recorded 14 assists.
- Freshman libero Mario Hernandez came up with 19 digs.
- Senior Rachel Baxter served four aces and had seven digs.

McMurry Notes
- Jennika Willis had eight kills and hit .400.
- Shaely Rogers also came up with eight kills.
- Erin Fallon assisted 11 points.
- Adile Leal led the War Hawks with 17 digs.
