RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team outscored Austin 38-14 in the second half, to earn a 71-43 victory at the UTD Activity Center Wednesday night.
The Comets (2-1) led 18-12 after the first quarter and extended the advantage to 11 before the Kangaroos (1-1) battled to trail 33-29 at the half. Already up 52-42 with 8:26 left in the game, UTD went on a 19-1 run the rest of the way, holding Austin. The home team shot 53.9 percent (7-of-13) in the fourth quarter while Austin was 2-for-18 (11.1 percent). The 'Roos went without a field goal for the that final stretch.
The Comets shot 43.1 percent (28-of-65) from the field, 3-of-17 from outside and 12-of-18 at the charity stripe. They also pulled down 41 rebounds to go with 13 assists, eight turnovers, five blocks and 10 steals.
The 'Roos were held to 29.1 percent (16-of-55) shooting, 7-of-23 from three-point range and 4-for-10 at the line to go with 36 rebounds, 15 assists, 19 turnovers, six blocks and seven steals.

- The Comets improve to 25-18 all-time against the 'Roos.
- UTD has won the turnover battle in all three games this season, averaging just 10.7 per game.
- In her first start of the season, junior guard
Trystan Clark scored a career-high 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting. She also had four steals.

- Grace Moothart scored six points with two assists.
