RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team defeated Linfield 77-59 in NCAA Division III Region X game at the UTD Activity Center Sunday afternoon.
The Comets (3-1) took a 5-4 lead at the 6:28 mark in the first quarter and never gave up. They built up an 18-6 lead at the end of the first period and were up 30-17 at halftime. UTD led by as many as 24 early in the fourth but hot shooting kept the Wildcats (1-3) from being completely blown out. After going 0-for-13 from three-point range to start the game, the visitors from Oregon finished 9-of-10 from outside. The Comets shot well in the second half, going 16-for-25 (64 percent) from the field and 5-for-6 from three-point territory.
For the game, UTD shot 50 percent (29-of-58) overall, 6-of-12 from outside and 13-of-23 at the free throw line. They also had 40 rebounds, 20 assists, 12 turnovers, four blocks and 11 steals. LU shot 39.3 percent (22-of-56) from the field, 9-of-23 from three-point range and 6-for-7 at the line with 29 boards, 16 assists, 17 turnovers, two blocks and two steals.
UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets won its first-ever meeting with the Wildcats.
- In its three victories, UTD has averaged a margin of 25 points.
- UTD had its best offensive output of the season in points, field goal percentage and three-point percentage.
- Senior guard
Blythe Williams paced the Comets with a career-high 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting. She also recorded five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and two steals.
- Amanda Crowinshield had 10 points with a career-high seven rebounds and a pair of steals.

Trystan Clark also scored 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting.

Alex Bowman recorded eight points, seven rebounds, a career-high five assists and two steals off the bench.

Mia Rudin registered seven points and six boards.

Molly Ly was 2-for-2 from outside for six points.
- Graduate student forward
Talia Cloud had five points, four rebounds and a season-high five assists to go with a block and a steal.
- The Comets led in points in the paint (42-26) and fast break points (17-6).

- Gillyan Landis led the Wildcats with 10 points.
- Ella Koebelin had eight points, three rebounds, four assists and a blocked shot.
- Amelia Solt scored seven points with four assists off the bench.
- Kobelin and Logan Roberts each went 2-for-3 from three-point range.
- Eve Bruke and Kayle Schow led LU with five boards each.
