RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team ended its three-game homestand with an 89-56 victory over Southwestern (Texas) at the UTD Activity Center Monday night.
The Pirates (1-5) came out on fire in the first quarter, shooting 66.7 percent (8-of-12) from the field and 4-of-5 from three-point range while limiting the Comets (4-1)Â to 29.4 percent (5-of-17) shooting. SU led 22-16 after the first period. UTD turned the tables in the second, outscoring the visitors 23-11 and leading 39-33 at the break.
The Comets dominated the second half, outscoring the Pirates 50-23. The home team grabbed 21 offensive rebounds and won the turnover battle by 10. They also led in bench points 42-22 and points off of turnovers 18-4.
For the game, UTD shot 43.7 percent (31-of-71) from the field, 14-of-32 from outside and 13-of-22 at the line. They also had 45 rebounds, 25 assists, 11 turnovers, two blocks and seven steals. SU shot 40.4 percent (21-of-52) overall, 7-of-19 from three and 7-of-11 in free throws with 31 rebounds, 13 assists, 21 turnovers, four blocks and two steals.
UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets improve to 7-4 all-time against the Pirates.
- Their 89 points was the most scored since the 2019-20 season.
- The 45 rebounds, 25 assists and 14 three-pointers were all season bests.
- Senior forward
Alex Bowman came off the bench to score a career-high 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting. She also had six rebounds and five assists.

Talia Cloud had a season-best 14 points, hitting four three-pointers, to go with four boards and three assists.
- Junior guard
Trystan Clark recorded 11 points and six rebounds, five on the offensive glass.
- Senior center
Mia Rudin scored a career-high 11 points with three rebounds and a blocked shot.

Amanda Crowninshield hit a trio of three-pointers for nine points and had a pair of steals.

Addy Self dished out four assists and posted a pair of steals.
- Sophomore guard
Raven Busby added six points in six minutes.Â

- Emily Jasek led the Pirates with 18 points, hitting five three-pointers, to go with five rebounds, three assists and a steal.
- Aniyah Burke had 12 points, seven assists, five rebounds and a steal.
- Ellie Ward added 10 points and four rebounds off the bench.
- Kaila Hamilton blocked three shots.
- Lauren Stevens recorded nine points, seven boards and a block.
