RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball took down McMurry 22-25, 25-13, 25-13, 25-15 in an American Southwest Conference match at the UTD Activity Center Friday night.
The visiting War Hawks (2-23, 1-12 ASC) escaped with a first set win on a 5-1 run after trailing 20-21. The Comets (11-12, 9-4 ASC) answered with an easy 12-point win in the second set and ended the third frame with an 11-0 rally. UTD were dominant offensively in the final two sets, hitting .368 and .310, respectively.
For the match, the Comets had a .233 hitting percentage with 57 kills, eight aces, seven blocks and 91 digs. McMurry hit .075 on 31 kills, five aces, one block and 69 digs.
UT Dallas Notes
- With two wins over the War Hawks this season, the Comets improve to 16-3 all-time against the team from Abilene.
- UTD solidified its third seed in next week's ASC Championship Tournament in Belton, Texas.

Bailey Schievelbein recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 16 kills and 18 digs.
- Right side
Stella Ballew hit .381 and connected on nine kills.
- Sophomore
Gabi Engels hit a career-high .500 on eight kills and came up with five blocks.

Sydney Sabin had 23 assists and nine digs while
Emma Sevening posted 20 assists and six digs.

Kinsley Gates also hit .333 with six kills and a season-high six block assists. She was involved in six of the Comets' seven blocks on the night.

Rachel Baxter led all players with 21 digs and moved into sixth place on UTD's career list.

Mari Hernandez came up with 15 digs.
McMurry Notes
- Jacee Dinkins paced the War Hawks with eight kills to go with 10 digs.
- Addyson Tiffin hit .294 with six kills.
- Libero Adile Leal led McMurry with 17 digs while Hannah Page added 16.
- Erin Fallon assisted 12 points.
