RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team ended the 2023 regular season with a 25-19, 22-25, 26-24, 25-17 victory against Hardin-Simmons at the UTD Activity Center Saturday.
The Comets (12-12, 10-4) move on the American Southwest Conference Championship Tournament beginning Thursday night on the campus of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
After splitting the first two sets, the Comets and Cowgirls (12-14, 6-8 ASC) exchanged seven leads and 13 ties in the third before UTD escaped with a 26-24 win.Â
Tied at 1-1 in the fourth, the Comets led the rest of the frame, taking the final set easily while holding HSU to a -.049 attack rate.
Overall, UTD hit .213 with 59 kills, seven aces, two blocks and 82 digs. HSU finished with a .156 hitting percentage and 45 kills, seven aces, eight blocks and 70 digs.
UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets improved to 25-11 all-time against the Cowgirls after winning both matches this season.

Bailey Schievelbein recorded her ninth double-double of the year with 12 kills and 18 digs to go with a pair of aces.

Rockie Collier had eight kills and a season-best seven digs.

Sydney Sabin recorded a season-high 30 assists and came up with 13 digs.

Emma Sevening had 22 assists.

Rachel Baxter led all players with 22 digs.

Hardin-Simmons Notes
- Rachel Nordt led the Cowgirls with 11 kills.
- Jadyn Hernandez had eight kills and five blocks.
- Setter Ali Meyer posted 21 assists and seven digs, while Keatyn Rodgers had 14 assists and 12 digs.
- Kat Martinez led HSU with 19 digs.
