THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The UT Dallas volleyball team finished the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational with a pair of three-set losses at Gilbert Arena Saturday.

In the first match, UC Santa Cruz (9-4) defeated the Comets (0-8) 25-18, 25-19, 25-18. UTD then fell to host Cal Lutheran (2-8) 25-18, 25-21, 25-21.

vs. UC Santa Cruz
The Banana Slugs hit .214 with 41 kills, eight aces, six blocks and 58 digs. The Comets hit .088 on 29 kills, two aces, seven blocks and 51 digs.

UT Dallas Notes
- Sophomore right side hit a season-best .429 on six kills.
- Lauren Johnson posted five blocks.
- Emma Sevening came up with 12 assist and eight digs.
- Mari Hernandez led all players with 19 digs.
- Erin Rogers added seven kills.

UC Santa Cruz Notes
- The Banana Slugs wer receiving votes in the latest AVCA Top 25 Poll.
- Olly Gordon hit .500 with eight kills.
- Kelly Ann Greene also had eight kills and four blocks.
- Emily Paison came up with 18 digs.
- Alessandra Ponzo recorded 18 assists and Sydney May had 14 with 10 digs.

vs. Cal Lutheran
UTD hit .137 with 39 kills, three aces, seven blocks and 45 digs. The Regals had a .291 hitting percentage with 45 kills, two aces, 3.5 blocks and 58 digs.

UT Dallas Notes
- Johnson hit a career-best .500 with seven kills and no errors.
- Freshman middle blocker Laura See tied her season-high with eight kills and had a new season-best of four blocks.
- Bailey Schievelbein led the Comets with 16 digs and added seven kills.
- Sevening had 17 assists and eight digs.
- Hernandez came up with 10 digs for her fourth double-digit performance of the season.

Cal Lutheran Notes
- Sadie Pete led CLU with 14 kills and hit .448.
- Amy Buffini had a double-double of 10 kills, 18 digs.
- Setter Tess Holbert had 37 assists.
- Alyssa Buffini added 17 digs.
