ALPINE, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team picked up its first win of the season, defeating Sul Ross Sate 25-12, 25-22, 25-19 at the Gallego Center Friday night.
The Comets (1-8) hit .304 in the first set, while the Lobos (3-7) struggled by hitting -.091 and committed 10 attack errors. The second frame was more even and featured 13 ties and six lead changes, before UTD prevailed 25-22. The Comets controlled the entire third set and led by as many as eight points.
For the match, UTD hit .208 with 37 kills, six aces, nine blocks and 45 digs. SRSUÂ managed an .062 attack percentage with 31 kills, two aces, one block and 33 digs.
UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets improved to 23-1 all-time against the Lobos and have won 22 in a row.

Gabi Engels hit a career-best .462 on eight kills.Â

Laura See had a season-best five blocks and hit .429 with seven kills.
