RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team recorded a season-best 19 steals as they defeated Howard Payne 77-63 at the UTD Activity Center Saturday afternoon.
The Comets (13-4, 5-3 American Southwest Conference) forced the Lady Jackets (6-12, 2-8 ASC) into 33 turnovers, the most for an opponent this season.
HPU led 19-16 after the first, but UTD flipped the script in the second to take a 37-33 advantage into halftime. Despite the Lady Jackets shooting 48 percent (12-for-25) in the second half, the Comets took control at the free throw line, going 25-for-32 for the game, compared to the visitors' 4-for-9 performance.
Overall, UTD shot 41.8 percent (23-for-55) from the field and 6-for-14 from three-point range. They also posted 33 rebounds, 12 assists, 22 turnovers and three blocks.
HPU shot 46.4 percent (26-for-56) overall and 7-of-22 from outside with 31 rebounds, 20 assists and seven steals.

- Junior guard
Trystan Clark tied her season-highs with 19 points and five steals. She was 6-for-8 from the floor and 7-for-9 from the line to go with six rebounds and three assists.
- Sophomore
Raven Busby recorded a career-high 18 points, going 4-for-5 overall and 8-of-9 at the line. She also recorded two boards, two assists, a block and two steals.
- Forward
Alex Bowman had 18 points and six rebounds.
- Junior guard
Cierra Trigg scored eight points and dished out a career-high four assists.
- Senior
Blythe Williams added seven points and three steals.

- Taysie Trejo led the Lady Jackets with 15 points off the bench, hitting four three-pointers.
- Anna Beamesderfer had 14 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
