RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team defeated Ozarks for the second time this week, winning 78-51 at the UTD Activity Center Saturday afternoon.
The Comets (15-4, 7-3 American Southwest Conference) have rattled off six straight wins and sit in fourth place in the league standings with six games left in the regular season.
UTD had its best shooting night of the season, starting off with a 60 percent clip (9-for-15) in the first quarter. The home team led the Eagles (7-12, 3-7 ASC) 21-9 at the end of the period and 40-17 at halftime.Â
The Comets pushed their lead to 28 points in the third quarter before ending the contest with a 27-point victory.
Overall, UTD shot 51.8 percent (29-for-56) from the field, 8-for-16 from three-point range and 12-for-17 from the free throw line. They also recorded 41 rebounds, 17 assists, 24 turnovers, four blocks and 10 steals.
Ozarks shot 32.8 percent (19-for-58) on the day, 4-for-17 from outside and 9-for-13 at the line with 30 rebounds, 16 assists, 26 turnovers, three blocks and nine steals.

- UTD improves to 37-14 all-time against Ozarks.
- Junior guard
Cierra Trigg led the Comets with a season-high 19 points, going 6-for-8 overall, 3-for-4 from three-point range and 4-for-4 at the line. She also grabbed five rebounds.
- Sophomore
Raven Busby came off the bench for 16 points, five rebounds, a block and a steal off the bench. She was 5-for-6 from the field.
- Forward
Alex Bowman scored 14 points.Â
- Sophomore forward
Anna Yellen scored a career-best nine points with four rebounds and a block.

Trystan Clark added five points, four assists and two steals.
- Senior guard
Blythe Williams also had five points with four boards and a pair of steals.
- Center
Jordyn Hofmann dished out a career-best three assists.

- Naomi Smith paced the Eagles with 16 points, six rebounds and two steals.
- Destini Powell recorded 11 points and five rebounds.
- Amanda Turpin had five points and four assists.
- Heaven Hayden scored five points with a block and a steal.
