BELTON, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball lost to #22/23 Mary Hardin-Baylor 83-64 at the Mayborn Campus Center in American Southwest Conference action Saturday afternoon.
The Comets (9-4, 2-3 ASC) led 5-0 over the first three minutes of the game, but the league-leading Cru (13-1, 6-0 ASC) went on a 23-5 run the rest of the opening period. UMHB led the rest of the game and built as much as a 21-point advantage in the fourth quarter.
UTD shot 41.4 percent (24-for-58) for the game, 3-of-12 from three-point territory and 13-of-19 at the free throw line. They also recorded 26 rebounds, 14 assists, 11 turnovers, three blocked shots and eight steals.
UMHB shot 50 percent (30-for-60) overall, 5-for-15 from outside and 18-of-25 at the line with 44 boards, 14 assists, 14 turnovers, four blocks and six steals.
UT Dallas Notes
- Forward
Alex Bowman paced the Comets with 16 points on 8-of-10 shooting. It was her fourth double-digit scoring performance of the season.
- Senior guard
Blythe Williams posted 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists. She pulled down eight boards for the fifth time this season.
- Graduate student
Talia Cloud hit a pair of three-pointers, scored nine points, grabbed four rebounds and recorded three steals.
- Sophomore forward
Addy Self had seven points, four rebounds, two assists, two blocks and an assist. It was the sixth time she has blocked two or more shots in a contest.
- Guard
Trystan Clark and
Raven Busby each added six points.
Mary Hardin-Baylor Notes
- The Cru scored the most points (83), had the most field goals made (30) and best field goal percentage (50) against the Comets this season.
- Meagan Johnson led all players with 19 points ane nine rebounds.
- Arieona Rosborough came up with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
- Ashley Faux scored 12 points.
- Remi Adeleke added 11 points, seven rebounds and a pair of blocks off the bench.
