UT Dallas Sweeps Austin

RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team picked up a 25-22, 25-21, 25-22 victory over Austin at the UTD Activity Center Tuesday evening.

The first set featured 12 ties and five lead changes between the host Comets (8-8) and the Kangaroos (15-11). Tied at 20-20, UTD pulled away for the 25-22 victory with a pair of kills from Lauren Petty and one each by Alina Strickler and Sophia Bailey.

UTD held off AC again in the second before leading the entire third frame. The Comets connected on 19 kills in the final set.

The Comets hit .201 overall with 50 kills, four aces, four blocks and 72 digs. The 'Roos hit .164 with 31 kills, four aces, six blocks and 55 digs.

UT Dallas Notes
- UTD improved to 13-10 all-time against Austin.
- Petty finished with 10 kills. 
- Strickler had 10 kills and 12 digs for her eighth double-double of the year.
- Sophomore middle blocker Laura See hit .500 with nine kills and three total blocks.
- Sophomore Bailey Schievelbein and Bailey each recorded eight kills.
- Both setters posted double-doubles with Sydney Sabin coming up with 21 assists and 10 digs and Kira Braun adding 14 assists and 10 digs.
- Sophomore libero Mari Hernandez led all players with 20 digs and tied a career-high with nine assists.

Austin Notes
- Samantha Graham led the 'Roos with eight kills and four blocks.
- TJ Folse had seven kills and nine digs.
- Laynie Kovacs came up with 18 digs.
- Madison Manning recorded 12 assists and eight digs.
- Brianne Tseng added 13 assists and seven digs.

Up Next
UTD will play its final home match of the year on Friday at 6 p.m. against Southeastern Oklahoma State.
