RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball lost a four-set match to Southeastern Oklahoma State in its final home competition of the year. The Savage Storm (11-13) from the Division II Great American Conference topped the Comets (8-9) 26-28, 25-18, 25-19, 25-20 at the UTD Activity Center Friday night.
Before the match, UTD honored its lone senior - middle blocker
Campbell Horn.
The first set was nearly even with 15 ties and nine lead changes and neither team taking more than a three-point advantage. SOSU led 24-22, but the home team ended the set on a 6-2 run which included kills from
Sophia Bailey and
Laura See. The Comets hit .255 with 18 kills in the first frame.
The Savage Storm led most of the way in the second and pulled away in the third to take a 2-1 sets lead. The visitors from Oklahoma took an 18-11 lead in the fourth, but the Comets went on a 6-2 run to cut the deficit to three at 20-17. SOSU wrapped up the match with a 5-3 rally.
UTD hit .108 in the match with 50 kills, five aces, two blocks and 95 digs. SOSU hit .200 on 53 kills, eight aces, nine blocks and 95 digs.
UT Dallas Notes
- Freshman outside hitter
Alina Strickler recorded her ninth double-double of the year with 12 kills and 19 digs.
- Sophomore libero
Mari Hernandez recorded 29 digs to lead all players.
- Setter
Kira Braun posted her fifth double-double of the season with 19 assists and 12 digs.

Sydney Sabin added 24 assists and eight digs.
- Bailey finished with eight kills and a block.
- Freshman right side
Lauren Petty had nine kills and a pair of aces.

Stella Ballew also recorded eight kills, as did

Southeastern Oklahoma State Notes
- D'Nari Mills led the Savage Storm with a double-double of 22 kills and 18 digs.
- Alexis Williams recorded 10 kills, hit .353 and posted six blocks.
- Ruthie Forson just missed a triple-double with eight kills, 32 assists, two aces, three blocks and 14 digs.
- Patience Lewis came up with 28 digs.
