RICHARDSON, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball lost a five-set battle against Mary Hardin-Baylor Friday night at the UTD Activity Center. The visiting Cru (17-3) came away with the victory 11-25, 27-25, 16-25, 25-16, 15-13.
The Comets (5-5) led the whole way in first and third sets. They opened the match with a .389 hitting percentage on 15 kills and only on error and hit .289 with 17 kills in the third.
The second set saw seven ties and four leads changes, before UMHB escaped with the 27-25 win. Down 8-7 in the fourth, the visitors from Belton used an 8-0 run to take control of the game and force a fifth frame.
UTD jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the deciding set. The Cru ended the match on a 13-5 rally.
UTD hit .189 for the match on 63 kills, nine aces, six blocks and 80 digs. UMHB hit .182 overall with 55 kills, two aces, eight blocks and 80 digs.
UT Dallas Notes
- Freshman middle blocker
Bijou Duff hit .632 - the best percentage for a Comet in a five-set match in school history. She connected on 12 kills with no errors on 19 attempts.
- Freshman outside
Alina Strickler recorded her fourth double-double of the year with a season-best 18 kills and 14 digs.
- Sophomore
Laura See had nine kills and a season-best five blocks.

Bailey Schievelbein connected on eight kills.
- Freshman
Lauren Petty had eight kills and season-highs of four blocks and eight digs.
- Libero
Mari Hernandez led all players with 27 digs.

Sydney Sabin posted a career-best 36 assists with four aces and nie digs.

- Kendall Harrington posted a triple double of 16 kills, 20 aces and 13 digs.
- Baylee Mobley recorded 15 kills to go with 14 digs and three blocks.
- Cameron Pesek added 10 kills and hit .364.
- Davyn Hurd had eight kills and a team-high seven blocks.
- Libero Caiden Lasala registered 20 digs.
- Caitlyn Ellenburg led the Cru with 22 assists.
