LONGVIEW, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team defeated LeTourneau 77-45 in American Southwest Conference action at Solheim Arena Thursday evening.
With the win, the Comets (19-5, 11-4 ASC) guaranteed the third seed in next week's ASC Championship Tournament and will host a Quarterfinal match-up with the sixth seed Ozarks on Tuesday, February 20 at 7 p.m.
With one game remaining in the regular season, UTD could finish in a tie for second with Mary Hardin-Baylor, but the Cru hold the tiebreaker for the second spot in the tourney. Hardin-Simmons will host the ASC Semifinals and Finals on February 23-24 in Abilene, Texas.
The YellowJackets (5-19, 2-13 ASC) shot 50 percent (8-of-16) in the first quarter and were 4-of-7 from three-point range to build a 20-14 lead. The Comets responded by outscoring the home team 50-11 over the next two periods and ended the night with a 32-point victory, the second largest win this season.
UTD went on a 19-0 row during the second quarter while shooting 56.3 percent (9-of-16) overall and 5-for-7 from outside to take control of the contest.
For the game, the Comets shot 44.3 percent (31-for-70) from the field, 6-for-23 from three-point territory and 9-for-11 at the free throw line. They also had 42 rebounds, 12 assists, 14 turnovers, three blocks and a season-high 20 steals.
LeTourneau shot 30.9 percent (17-of-55) overall, 6-of-15 from outside and 5-of-6 at the line with 35 boards, 11 assists, 27 turnovers, three blocks and five steals.
UT Dallas Notes
- The Comets improve to 39-14 in the all-time series with the YellowJackets.
- Senior forward
Alex Bowman scored a career-high 25 points on 9-of-11 shooting. She was also 3-for-3 from three-point territory and 4-for-4 at the charity stripe.
- Sophomore guard
Amanda Crowninshield was 7-for-10 shooting en route to 16 points. She also tied a career-best with five steals.
- Senior
Blythe Williams tied a season-high with 11 rebounds.
- Guard
Raven Busby had seven points off the bench and a career-high four steals.
- Sophomore forward
Addy Self posted six points, six rebounds, a season-high four assists and four steals.
- Freshman
Karrigan Parrott scored five points and dished out three assists.

- Junior center
Jordyn Hofmann grabbed a career-high six rebounds and blocked a pair of shots.

LeTourneau Notes
- Bailey Broughton was the only YellowJacket in double-figures with 14 points. She made four three-pointers.
- Allie Buchanan had eight points, six rebounds and two blocks.
- Genae Gaines recorded six points and five rebounds.
- Mariana Espinosa added five points, six rebounds and three assists off the bench.
