LONGVIEW, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team recorded 15 service aces - tied for the second-most in a four-set match in program history - in a 25-23, 15-25, 28-26, 25-22 victory against LeTourneau at Solheim Arena Friday night.
The Comets (5-3) led big in the first set and held on for the win after connecting on 15 kills. The YellowJackets (7-9) evened up the sets with 15 kills and a .438 hitting percentage in the second frame.
UTD outlasted the home team in the third, 28-26, then ended the match with a .277 percentage and 18 kills in the fourth and decisive game.
For the match, the Comets hit .175 on 54 kills, four blocks and 69 digs. LETU hit .257 with 51 kills, eight aces, six blocks and 78 digs.
UT Dallas Notes
- Sophomore setter
Sydney Sabin served seven aces, tying for the second most in program history. She also had four kills, 19 assists and six digs.
- Freshman outside hitter
Alina Strickler posted her third double-double of the year with 16 kills and 16 digs.
- Middle blocker
Laura See recorded 12 kills and a pair of blocks.

- Freshman setter
Kira Braun had 20 assists and six digs.
- Sophomore libero
Mari Hernandez led the team with 19 digs.
- UTD is now 45-0 all-time against LETU.

- Yari Ortiz led the YellowJackets with 16 kills and hit .316.
- Hannah Payan had 12 kills and seven digs.
- Libero Morgan Nix led all players with 31 digs.
