MARSHALL, Texas - The UT Dallas volleyball team lost in three sets to #13 East Texas Baptist 25-15, 25-19, 25-23 at Ornelas Gymnasium Saturday morning.
Statistically, the teams were virtually even, with the Comets (5-4) making six more attack errors.Â
UTD hit .068 with 32 kills, three aces, six blocks and 45 digs for the match. Their best set was a .132 percentage with 12 kills in the second.
The Tigers (14-1) hit .143 on 33 kills, eight aces, seven blocks and 49 digs. They were held to under .075 hitting in the first and third sets.
UT Dallas Notes
- Freshmen outsides
Alina Strickler and
Emma Mischel led the Comets with eight kills each. Strickler also had three blocks and seven digs.
- Sophomore middle blocker
Laura See hit .313 on seven kills and two blocks.
- Setter
Sydney Sabin recorded 14 assists.
- Sophomore libero
Mari Hernandez led UTD with 20 digs. This was her fifth 20-plus dig performance of the season.
- Freshman middle blocker
Bijou Duff also had three blocks.Â
East Texas Baptist Notes
- All-American Graycee Mosley was limited to just six kills and a .115 hitting percentage.
- Hannah Perry hit .462 with seven kills and three blocks.
- Avery Reid also added seven kills and a pair of aces.
- McKenzie Mansell had 16 assists and two aces.
- Callie Humprhey led all players with 21 digs.
- Grace Williamson came up with four blocks.
