GOLDEN, Colo. - The UT Dallas women's basketball team wrapped up its trip to Colorado known as the Conference Challenge with a 67-56 loss to Colorado School of Mines at Lockridge Arena Saturday afternoon.
The Comets (0-2) trailed the Orediggers (1-3) 19-18 at the end of the first quarter and were down 30-28 at the break after the teams exchanged several leads and ties in the second.
Mines pulled away in the second half, taking advantage of a 20-23 free throw performance, while UTD was just 4-for-5.
The Comets shot 37.9 percent (22-of-58) overall and 8-of-27 from three-point territory. They also had 34 rebounds, 14 assists, 16 turnovers, four blocks and nine steals.
The Orediggers were 37.7 percent (20-of-53) from the field and 7-of-20 from outside with 38 boards, 12 assists, 14 turnovers, two blocks and 10 steals.
UT Dallas Performances
- Freshman guard
Kinley Mears led the Comets with 16 points off the bench, making four three-pointers.Â
- Freshman forward
Danielle Oyakhire had 12 points, seven rebounds - five offensive, two assists, a block and a pair of steals.
- Junior guard
Umi Otsuka posted 10 points and two assists.

Anna Yellen and
Sheridan Kavanagh scored nine points each.

Addy Self recorded 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals. She has had double-digit boards in both games this season.
Colorado School of Mines Performances
- Sofia Baldessari registered 23 points, eight rebounds and two steals off the bench. She went 8-for-8 at the line.
- Emma Sixta recorded 12 points and five assists.
- Olivia Campbell scored 10 points.
- Quincey Baum grabbed six rebounds.
