SILVER CITY, N.M. - The UT Dallas women's basketball team completed its first Lone Star Conference road swing with two wins after defeating Western New Mexico 76-44 at Drag's Court Saturday afternoon.
For the second consecutive game, the Comets (5-5, 2-2 LSC) never trailed, establishing the tone by shooting 69.2 percent (9-of-13) in the first quarter and leading 25-12. They led the Mustangs (0-10, 0-3 LSC) by as many as 24 points and took a 44-25 advantage into halftime.
UTD would lead by as many as 35 points in the second half before closing out the 32-point victory.
For the game, the Comets shot 51.7 percent (31-for-60) from the field, went 7-of-19 from three-point territory and were a perfect 7-for-7 at the line - just the third time in program history they did not miss a free throw. UTD also recorded 47 rebounds, 11 assists, 16 turnovers, three blocks and nine steals.
WNMU shot 24.6 percent (15-of-61) overall, 6-of-26 from outside and 8-of-12 at the line with 28 rebounds, seven assists, 13 turnovers, two blocks and four steals.
UT Dallas Performances
- Junior guard
Umi Otsuka scored 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting, tied for the third-best shooting percentage in a game in school history. She also recorded three assists, three rebounds and three steals.
- Forward
Sheridan Kavanagh scored a season-high 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Anna Yellen was 4-for-5 shooting for 12 points.
- Senior forward
Addy Self recorded 11 points, six rebounds, three assists and steal.
