ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The UT Dallas women's tennis team was defeated by Eckerd 7-0 at Bullard Courts Tuesday.

The host Tritons (7-5) took the doubles point, winning all three matches, but the Comets (2-4) fought closely. Reika Nagai and Megan Zeng lost to Catherine Cole and Olivia Lindestaf 6-4 at number one. Kylie Misdorp and Maya Soligo defeated Jhastine Red Ballado and Elsha Valluru 7-5 in the second spot.

Eckerd went on to win each of the singles matches. Ballado forced a third-set tiebreaker at number five before losing to Soligo 6-1, 5-7, 1-0 (10-0). Sophomore Chloe O'Connor battled Cole to a 6-4, 6-3 decision in the fourth flight.

UT Dallas will wrap up its Florida trip at Tampa on Wednesday at 2 p.m. CT.
