AUSTIN, Texas - The UT Dallas women's basketball team picked up a Lone Star Conference victory Thursday night, defeating St. Edward's 64-53 at the Recreation and Convocation Center.
Freshman forward
Danielle Oyakhire led the Comets (9-8, 6-4 LSC) with season-bests of 20 points and 13 rebounds.
UTD shot 53.3 percent (8-of-15) in the first quarter to take a commanding 21-10 lead. The host Hilltoppers (10-9, 4-7 LSC) were limited to 22.2 percent (2-of-9) in the opening period.
The Comets continued to lead 36-30 at halftime and 49-36 going into the fourth period. UTD led by as many as 16 points before coming away with the 11-point victory.
For the game, the Comets shot 43.6 percent (24-of-55) from the field, 3-of-11 from three-point range and 13-of-20 at the free throw line. They also recorded 34 rebounds, 10 assists, 14 turnovers, three blocked shots and 11 steals.
SEU shot 34.7 percent (17-of-49) overall, 4-of-17 from outside and were 15-of-15 at the free throw line with 32 rebounds, 10 assists, three blocks and five steals.
UT Dallas Performances
- Oyakhire was 9-for-12 shooting with a block and three steals. It was her second double-double of the season.
- Freshman guard
Kinley Mears recorded 11 points and four steals for her fourth double-digit scoring performance of the season.
- Senior forward
Addy Self added nine points and seven rebounds.

Umi Otsuka scored nine points and dished out three assists.
- Senior guard
Raven Busby posted eight points and a blocked shot off the bench.

Liv Pedigo had a pair of steals.
St. Edward's Performances
- Suni Davis led the Hilltoppers with 14 points and three assists. She was 7-for-7 at the free throw line.
- Kiana Bennett recorded 12 points and four rebounds.
- Ramsey Robledo had nine points and five boards.
- Mikah Chapman came up with six points, five rebounds and three steals.
- Kendall Beck had six points, two blocks and six rebounds.
