RICHARDSON, TX - Thirty-five UTD student-athletes were honored March 25 for their success in the classroom at the first annual UTD Athletic Department Student-Athlete Academic Recognition Luncheon, held in the Galaxy Room.

The athletes, who represented 12 different UTD intercollegiate athletic programs, were selected for the honor based on a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher. In addition, honorees had to have completed at least two semesters of study at UTD. Student-athletes were joined at the luncheon by UTD administrators, their coaches, parents and faculty members the honorees selected themselves for a special invitation. The UTD Athletic Department plans on making the luncheon an annual affair.
