HENRIETTA, TX (10.06.12) - The UT Dallas men's and women's cross country teams returned to the course Saturday morning for the Sikes Senter Cross Country Carnival, hosted by Midwestern State.

The Comet men ran 10 kilometers for the first and only time this season with
Jordan Newcomer setting a personal best with his fourth-place finish in a time of 37:55.
Clay Howell was sixth at 39:43 and Mohammad Nourani was seventh at 39:54.
Abilene Christian, the only other men's team in the meet, finished with 19 points while UTD had 36 points. Newcomer, Howell and Nourani each beat ACU's fifth finisher.
On the women's side, the Comets place fifth among a full NCAA Division II field.
Mel Cavage paced UTD with a time of 26:56 in 33rd place in the Comets' only six-kilometer race of the year. Monica Alston was 36th at 27:04 and
Austin Schmidt was 39th at 28:45.
Central Oklahoma claimed the women's team title with 32 points, outdistancing host MSU with 36 points. Southwestern Oklahoma was third with 68 points, ACU fourth with 101 points and UTD had 138 points.
The UTD cross country teams return to action for one final regular season meet on Saturday when the Comets travel to Clinton, Miss., for a meet hosted by Mississippi College. MC will then host the American Southwest Conference Championships on Saturday, Oct. 27.
