Box Score 2 GEORGETOWN, TX (11.01.14) - The UT Dallas volleyball team closed out the regular season with a split in a pair of non-conference matches Saturday afternoon. UTD extended its winning streak to eight matches with a 3-0 win over Austin College but quickly had that streak ended with a 3-0 loss to Southwestern.
The Comets wrapped up the regular season at 19-9 and will open play in the American Southwest Conference Tournament Thursday at 12 p.m. against Hardin-Simmons in Belton. Taylour Toso and
Michelle Toro each finished with 10 kills while setter
Kayla Jordan ended the short match with 36 assists, 12.0 per set. Toso hit .450 for the match, committing just one error in 20 swings. Libero
Bethany Werner had a match-high 19 digs.
Southwestern 3, UTD 0The Comets hit just .152 as a team in the match as they fell to Southwestern, 25-21, 25-19, 25-17, in the regular-season finale for both teams.
Meredith Crawford and Toro each finished with a team-high eight kills while Toso added seven kills in the loss. Jordan ended with 28 assists, 9.3 per set, while Crawford had a match-high 23 digs.
