Box Score AUSTIN, TX (09.26.14) - The UT Dallas volleyball team had its seven-match winning streak come to an end Friday night with a 3-2 loss at Concordia Texas in American Southwest Conference play.
The Comets (now 10-3, 4-1 ASC) dropped the first set, 25-22, before taking the next two frames, 25-23 and 25-21, to grab a 2-1 advantage and seemingly keep their ASC mark spotless. However, the host Tornados (now 7-6, 3-2 ASC) grabbed a 25-20 win in the fourth set and rallied from three points down to earn a 15-13 win in the decisive fifth set.

Meredith Crawford each finished with a team-high 13 kills while sophomore
Holyn Handley rounded out the Comets in double digits with 11 kills. UTD hit just .111 as a team in the five-set match and collected just 48 kills (less than 10 per set).
UTD opened up slow, hitting just .024 as a team in the first set with just 10 kills as a squad. The Comets bounced back in the second set with 14 kills and a .235 team hitting percentage to even the match and somehow took a 2-1 lead after hitting .000 (8 kills, 8 errors) in the four-point win in the third set. The Comets, hit .140 in the fourth set and .188 in the fifth set. UTD held an 11-8 lead in the fifth set, after a block by Handley and freshman
Emma Wallbrown, but collapsed down the stretch. The Comets collected just two kills in the final nine points of the match, both by Toso, as CTX protected home court.
The Comets return to action Saturday afternoon at No. 23-ranked Mary Hardin-Baylor. Game time is 2 p.m. in Belton.
