RICHARDSON, TX (05.10.22) - The UT Dallas softball team had five players honored on Tuesday as the ASC announced its all-conference teams for the sport of softball.

Ashley Ambrosy,
Nicole Peters and
Megan Todd were all named second team All-ASC this spring while
Emilie Hoelscher and
Avery Markley picked up third team honors.
A native of Haslet, Ambrosy hit .345 in her final season with the Comets with a team-high 21 stolen bases this spring. Ambrosy finished the year with 25 runs scored, second most on the squad, with eight RBI along with a double and a triple. She was also tabbed second team All-ASC after the 2021 season.
Peters, a native of Allen, wrapped up her fifth year with the Comets with her first All-ASC honor this spring. Peters was second the squad this season with a .366 batting average with six doubles and one home run. She finished fourth on the team with 17 RBI and scored seven runs.
After an honorable mention All-ASC season a year ago, Todd climbed up to second team all-conference in her third year with the Comets. A native of Houston, she led the Comets with a .397 batting average, collecting eight doubles and a team-best eight home runs. She also led UTD with 38 RBI and scored 23 runs.Â
Hoelscher, a native of Waco, posted an 8-8 record with a team-best 2.89 earned run average for the Comets in her debut with the program. She finished the spring with 90 strikeouts in 109.0 innings pitched, both team highs, with eight complete games. She also collected a team-best two saves this season.
A native of Plano, Markley picked up third team honors this spring after collecting honorable mention recognition after the 2021 campaign. A .331 hitter for the Comets, Markley led the squad with 34 runs scored while ranking second on the team with 27 RBI. She also led the Comets with 12 doubles and ranked second with five home runs.
The Comets closed the 2022 season with a 23-18 overall record under first-year head coach
Kelly Archer. UTD placed sixth in the ASC with a 15-15 league mark, qualifying for the ASC Tournament for the first time since 2019.
