RICHARDSON, Texas - UT Dallas sophomore
Snehin Yerragudi was selected as the American Southwest Conference East Division Men's Tennis Most Valuable Player as part of the league's postseason awards.
Fellow sophomore
Benjamin Dubois was the East Division Newcomer of the Year. Five Comets were honored on the prestigious All-ASC Team and were All-East Division First Team - Yerragudi, Dubois,
Andres Gonzalez,
Nathan Qi and
Nick Boquet. Yerragudi and
Noah Sam were on the All-ASC East Division Second Team in doubles.
Yerragdui, from Cedar Park, Texas, was 10-3 overall and 4-0 in conference at third singles. He is a repeat All-ASC honoree and is the fifth Most Valuable Player in program history.
Dubois, from McKinney, Texas, went 11-2 overall and 4-0 in conference while playing in the fourth spot.
Gonzalez, a graduate student from Caracas, Venezuela, played in the top singles spot for the Comets, going 8-4 overall and 4-0 in conference.
Qi, a sophomore from Austin, Texas, played in second singles, going 6-7 overall and 3-1 in the ASC. He was an All-ASC East Second Team selection last year.
Boquet, a senior from Allen, Texas, earned All-ASC honors for the third time and All-East Division for the fourth season. He went 7-5 for the year and 4-0 in conference.
Sam, a senior from The Woodlands, Texas, earned All-ASC East Division honors for the second time. He teamed with Yerragudi at number three doubles, going 6-6 overall and 3-1 in league play.
