RICHARDSON, Texas - UT Dallas men's soccer players
Josh Zemanski and
Ryder Claborn were named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player and Goalkeeper of the Week, respectively, the league announced Monday.
Zemanski, a junior defender from Richardson, Texas, played all 180 minutes at right back in the Comets' pair of shutouts. He anchored a defense that allowed just five shots on goal in Wednesday's 1-0 home win over Lubbock Christian. Zemanski then helped UTD secure a 2-0 shutout at #9 Midwestern State on Saturday.
Claborn, a sophomore from Lawton, Okla., was in goal for both shutouts, bringing his season total to six. He recorded one save against LCU and followed with six huge saves at MSU. Claborn leads the LSC with a 0.33 goals against average, an .893 save percentage and six shutouts.
The Comets will be back in action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. when they host St. Mary's in a conference battle.
