NEWTON, Kan. - The UT Dallas women's golf team is leading its final tournament of the year after the first round Monday. They shot a 309 (+21) to take charge of the six-team at the Bethany College Classic at Sand Creek Station Golf Club.
Individually, senior
Sofia Trevino leads the pack after firing a two-under, 70 with three birdies. She made 14 pars during the opening round. Senior
Maddy Vilven is in sixth with a 76 (+4) and
Danielle Dimafelix is ninth with a 78 (+6). Sophomores
Andra Anderson (85/+13) tied for 16th and
Hayden Trost (+14/86) tied for 20th.
The Comets hold a two-stroke lead over William Penn (311/+23). They are followed by Kansas Wesleyan (314/+26), Science & Arts Oklahoma (337/+49), Southwestern (Kan.) (340/+52) and Midland (Neb.) (445/+157).
The final round will tee off Tuesday morning.
