NEWTON, Kan. - The UT Dallas women's golf team ended its season with a first-place finish at the Bethany College Classic at Sand Creek Station Golf Club Tuesday.
The Comets won the event by six strokes, shooting a 309-320-629 (+53). They finished ahead of William Penn (635/+59), Kansas Wesleyan (645/+69), Science & Arts Oklahoma (677/+101) and Southwestern (Kan.) (692/+116).
Senior
Sofia Trevino concluded her collegiate career as the victor with an even-par score of 70-74=144. She made seven birdies in the tournament and won by five shots.
Fellow seniors
Maddy Vilven and
Danielle Dimafelix each tied for fifth with a +13. Vilven shot a 76-81=157 and Dimafelix recorded a 78-79=157. Sophomore
Hayden Trost tied for 17th with an 86-86=172 (+28) and sophomore
Andra Anderson made an 85-89=174 (+30) for 21st place.
Trevino finishes as the UTD career leader with 150 birdies. Vilven holds the program record for the most rounds played (97) and the most counting scores (86).
