LAWTON, Okla. - The UT Dallas women's golf team finished the Oklahoma Intercollegiate with a second-place finish while freshman
Molly Woods also took second individually at the Lawton Country Club on Tuesday.
The Comets shot a 295-302=597 (+29) on the par-71 course, finishing behind host Cameron (+26/594). UT Permian Basin was third (+39/607), followed by Redlands CC (+48/616), Northwestern Oklahoma State (+63/631), Dodge City (+78/646) and East Central (+122/690).Â
The 36-hole score of 597 was tied for the third-lowest in program history.
Woods was +4 with a 72-74=146 and two shots off the lead. Freshman
Camilah Porras tied for fifth place with a +6, 70-78=148. Both Woods and Porras tied for the tournament lead with seven birdies made.
Sophomore
Syrah Javed tied for 9th at +9, 76-75=151 and
Brooke Yount was 14th with a +13, 80-75=155.
UTD will be off until Sunday, October 12, when they play at the Battle for the Belt in Hot Springs, Ark.
