WEST POINT, Miss. - The 2025-26 UT Dallas men's golf campaign opened Monday at the Dunning Invitational hosted by Delta State at Mossy Oak Golf Club.
After the first two rounds, the Comets are in third place out of 14 squads with a +14, 294-296=590. Fifth-ranked Lee leads the field with a -21/555, followed by the Lee B team (+4/580), UTD, Trevecca Nazarene (+17/593), Delta State (+17/593), Montevallo (+21/597) and #25 Midwestern State (+21/597).Â
Senior
Tyler Durden led UTD with a one-under par and tied for ninth. He fired a 73-70=143 with a team-best seven birdies on the day.Â
Freshman
Banks Tessier tied for 17th, shooting a 71-76-147 (+3) with five birdies and an eagle. Fellow freshman
Grant McCleskey was +9 with a 77-76=153 on two birdies and an eagle, tying for 35th. Junior
Nick Slobbe had an 80-74=154 (+10) and tied for 41st. Junior Hunter Wolfiner was just behind, tying for 47th with a 73-82=155 (+11) and six birdies on Monday.
The Comets will wrap up the tournament on Monday with a tee time of 8 a.m.
