AMARILLO, Texas - The UT Dallas men's golf team finished 11th out of 16 teams at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invitational at Amarillo Country Club Wednesday and Thursday.
The Comets shot a 5-over-par 289-283-285=857 in the regional tournament. The score of 857 is the fourth-lowest 54-hole team score in school history.
Junior
Nick Slobbe led UTD with a 73-67-71=211 (-2), tying for 15th place. He tied for the ninth-best 54-hole tally in Comet history.
Freshman
Grant McCleskey shot an even 70-72-71=213, tying for 27th place and fellow freshman
Banks Tessier tied for 55th at 73-71-75=219 (+6). Senior
Tyler Durden tied for 66th with a 73-77-72=222 (+9) and junior Hunter Wolflinger was tied for 74th at 80-73-71 (+11).
Slobbe paced the Comets with 12 birdies while McCleskey and Tessier each sank nine.
UTD will play its final tournament of the fall at the DBU Classic in Rockwall, Texas on October 27-28.
