HILLSBORO, Texas - The UT Dallas men's and women's cross country teams each finished fourth at The Hill Cross Country Classic Friday evening.
The Comet women netted 114 points, finishing behind DBU (17), Trinity (Texas) (71) and Blinn (114) in the eight-team race.
Sophomore
Alexia Callahan paced UTD for the third consecutive race, finishing the 5K in 20:28.4 and a 16th-place finish. Junior
Ellie Suo-Anttila took 26th place in 21:05.9 and sophomore
Bharvi Varu was 28th in 21:16.1. Freshman
Brianne Vasquez completed the course in 22:53.4 and finished 53rd and senior
Abby Valdez wrapped up the scoring for UTD in 58th place with a mark of 23:02.5.
DBU also won the 11-team men's competition with 17 points with Blinn (60), Texas Lutheran (116) and UTD (129) rounding out the top four.
Sophomore
Alex Bozhilov finished sixth in 26:29.1 in the 8,000-meter race. Junior
Frank Douglas ran a time of 27:09.2 and took 17th, while freshman
Alan Sutherland was 28th in 27:34.4. Sophomore
Bryce Williams had a personal-best time of 28:56.2 for 64th place and senior
Andy Hamze had a time of 29:08.9 and finished 73rd.
Results
The Comets will compete in the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Ark. on Saturday, October 4.
