PITTSBURG, Kan. - The UT Dallas track & field teams broke six school records on the first day of the 11th Annual Russ Jewett Indoor Gorilla Classic at the Robert W. Plaster Center Friday.
The Comet women set three new marks. Freshman
Saniya Bosby established the indoor high jump record, clearing 1.61 meters (5 ft.-3.5 in.) and placing fourth. Bosby also had a long jump of 4.90 meters (16 ft.-1 in.).
Sophomore
Rowen Hughes reclaimed the 60-meter hurdles school record in 9.57 seconds. Freshman
Michelle Bakare broke the 60-meter dash record in 8.09 seconds.
The UTD men also registered three records. Sophomore
Nick Hofer established a high jump of 1.78 meters (5 ft.-10 in.), placing 12th.
Freshman
Matthew Kenney broke the 60-meter hurdles record in 8.95 seconds. Freshman
Liam Simmons set a new 200-meter mark in 22.07 seconds.
