DALLAS - The UT Dallas track & field teams broke five school records on Saturday at the SMU Invite at Washburne Soccer and Track Stadium, bringing the weekend total to eight.
Comet Men's Highlights
- The 4x100-meter relay team of
Travis Matchett,
Jay Hicks,
Liam Simmons and
Blake Rippy placed second and shaved .39 seconds off the school record in 40.39.
- Simmons broke a four-year-old school record with a time of 49.03 seconds in the 400-meter dash, finishing 12th.

Franklin Perez, Rippy, Oksanen and Simmons were fourth in the 4x400 relay in 3:15.56.
- Junior
JD Koller took ninth with a javelin throw of 45.97 meters (150 ft.-10 in.).
- Freshman
David Vasquez ran a time of 54.72 in the 400-meter hurdles, placing 10th.
- Other top finishers for the UTD men included:

Mariah Gibson took sixth in the 4x100 relay with a school-record time of 47.23.
- Mason, Gibson,
Abby Ellisor and
Nahia Kelley had a time of 3:58.99 in the 4x400, placing eighth.
- Mason also broke the record in the 400 by .47 seconds, placing 12th in 56.11.
- Sophomore
Rowen Hughes bested her own school record in 1:05.70, taking .54 off the mark, and finishing 23rd. She also placed 30th in the 100 hurdles in 15.36 seconds.

Chisom Mbah in the shot put (11th, 11.77 meters/38 ft.-7.5 in.) and in the discus (15th, 31.43 meters/103 ft.-1 in.).
